In the summer the temperature can range from 75-90 . Nothing is more cooling than a day canoeing or kyaking on the Dodogne river ,only 20 minutes from the house. You can choose from 1/2 day to full day gentle gliding down the river, stop for a picnic which can be provided with notice by Bayje.

Racadmadour Visit one of the most traveled pilgrim stops the ancient hill side town of Racadmadour. Known for its sword in the stone and its Black Madonna ,a must see for all history buffs.

Visit the chateaux of Montal and Castelnaux, both only 20 minutes from the house and open to the public. Castelnaux was a defense chateu.

Within 20-30 minutes are some of the most beautiful villages of France, Autroire, Martel, Loubressac, Carenac, each with its own special identity for you to discover.

Gouffre de Padirac, Grotte de Presque is only 30 minutes from the house. Drop into the cool under ground world of rivers, lakes, stalagmite and stalactites. Both have guided tours.

Each summer St. Cere , one of our nearest towns hosts an abundance of fairs and also a music festival of Operas and classic music. This is presented in the incredible surroundings of our local chapels and chateaux.

Antique shopping Our region has a published list of brocants, Street fairs of antiques and collectables and also almost every week-end has a vide grenier, Each village has an empty your attic sell to clean out the left overs of past generations, so welcome to the world of chiner., the passion of finding that little treasure from some ones atic!

Biking IT is a climb to go out from the house but worth it for those in shape. One of my favorite rides is to Racamadour. This is a wonderful overnight trip. Those not so athletically inclined can do gentle riding in St. Cere or Bretenoux. Bikes are for rent in St Cere at the local bike shop on a Dailey basis with notice.
Hiking The hiking is limitless here , We are near the grand randonee trail, but also have numerous maps at the house.
